Ports & Terminals Seminar

HFW will be hosting the second seminar of their Ports and Terminals series. HFW Partner Craig Neame will introduce and chair the seminar looking at current liabilities relating to stowage, planning, loading, transhipment and discharge.

Summary

This seminar features a variety of external and internal speakers addressing the proposed amendments to SOLAS Regulation VI/2, namely the mandatory verification of container weights. If terminals offer this as a service to their customers, this could potentially result in additional claims when things go wrong. Following an introduction by HFW Senior Associate Matthew Gore, Captain Richard Brough OBE of ICHCA will share his thoughts on this topic from the perspective of Ports & Terminals; Chris Welsh of the Freight Transport Association shall present from the shippers' viewpoint along with an update on UK implementation of the calculation method and Peregrine Storrs-Fox of the TT Club will add insights from an insurance and loss preventation angle.
