Gabriella is an Associate in HFW's commodities team. She specialises in international trade, commodities, mining and shipping relating to a broad range of commodities, from petroleum products, oil, iron ore, steel, coal and metals, to grains, soybeans, rice and oils. She holds a Master's Degree in Mandarin Chinese and has spent time living and working in Singapore, China and Hong Kong.

Gabriella advises all participants in the commodities and mining sector, including trading companies, banks, producers, mines, offtakers, charterers and insurers on both non-contentious and contentious matters. She advises on sale and purchase agreements (including offtake, storage, warehousing), structured trade finance deals, and project documentation. Gabriella has a particular interest in distributed ledger technology and delivers training on this subject.

Gabriella has expertise in commercial litigation and international arbitration, both ad hoc and under LMAA, GAFTA, FOSFA, ICC, SIAC, LCIA rules. She regularly speaks at commodities and mining seminars and delivers training on general commodity contracts, GAFTA contracts and shipping related issues.

Gabriella has also been involved in a number of successful enforcement strategies, leading to enforcement of awards in jurisdictions such as China, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.

Gabriella is a qualified lawyer in England and Wales.
