Sydene is a Legal Director in HFW's office in Dubai. She has extensive real estate experience which includes acting as a lead negotiator in a number of high value real estate acquisition and disposals; commercial, retail and residential lease transactions; different forms of long term land leases; advising on complex mixed use developments, and preparation of various types of strata documents, such as master community declarations, jointly owned property declarations and building management statements.

As a past in-house legal advisor, Sydene's practice includes advising on a broad range of real estate matters, such as developer and project registration; disclosure statements and off plan sales scheme documents; real estate disputes, various types of commercial agreements such as property and facilities management, exhibitions, events, sponsorship, marketing and brokerage; different forms of service agreements; and project re-development strategies.

Sydene has acted for property developers, banks, consultants, association management companies, facilities and property management companies, major landlords and tenants on transactions involving development, sales, leasing, and other property transactions.

She developed her real estate experience through working with local firms in South Africa and the UAE, as well as working in-house for a master developer, which is one of the largest real-estate development and property management businesses in Dubai.

She is fluent in English and is registered as an attorney with the Law Society of Northern Provinces, South Africa.

The firm's Dubai office opened in 2006 and has grown significantly over the years.

Now with 13 partners, 1 legal director and 26 associates, the office offers both GCC clients and international clients with operations in the region an integrated service covering dispute resolution, transactions and regulation across a number of industry sectors. Our team of lawyers, many of whom are Arabic speakers, come from diverse backgrounds and have a strong understanding of and established working relationships with government departments, regulatory bodies, agencies and locally qualified lawyers throughout the GCC region.
