About Edward
Edward is a Partner in HFW’s Hong Kong office. He specialises in complex multi-jurisdictional commercial litigation and international arbitration with a focus on insolvency, fraud, asset tracing, preservation and enforcement.
Edward’s commercial litigation expertise includes contentious insolvency, shareholder disputes and fraud with a particular emphasis on complex high-value commercial disputes in the international trade and investment spaces. He regularly appears as an advocate before the Hong Kong Courts and is qualified in England & Wales, Hong Kong, and the British Virgin Islands.
Edward’s arbitration experience includes acting for leading financial institutions, traders and related service providers under all the major institutional regimes (including the HKIAC, SIAC, UNCITRAL and LCIA rulebooks) in jurisdictions across Asia and Europe.
Edward has been based in Asia since 2014. Prior to joining HFW, Edward gained a Masters degree in Engineering from the University of Durham and worked as a project manager for a Fortune Global 150 multinational in the United Kingdom, France and Holland.
In 2023 Edward was featured in the list of ‘Hong Kong’s Most Influential Lawyers Under 40’ by Hong Kong Business. In 2025 he appeared in Legal 500 for his litigation and international arbitration skills. Edward is a committee member of the Restructuring and Insolvency Faculty of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
