Christian is part of HFW's Commodities group, focusing on transactional and advisory matters. He advises principally on power, oil & gas, metals and derivatives, particularly on matters with a regulatory aspect. He also assists on some disputes matters and works as part of the secretariat to the European Bulk Oil Traders' Association.
Christian trained at HFW and qualified in March 2017. As a trainee Christian completed seats in the Commodities, Shipping and Regulatory departments, and did a six month secondment to an investment bank. He has also been seconded to a power & gas trader on a part-time basis.
Prior to becoming a lawyer Christian spent six years in the commodities trading industry. He worked in the metals-operations and freight-trading departments of one of the largest Swiss trading houses. He then joined a family office with extensive mining and fuel assets in Sub Saharan Africa working as a metals trader.
Christian is a member of the European Energy Centre and the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.
He is qualified in England and Wales.
