Within the aviation and insurance sectors we guide airlines, private operators and commercial carriers through a wide range of operational and liability matters. This includes accident and injury claims, property damage, and helicopter and fixed‑wing aircraft incidents, drawing on deep experience across the aviation and commercial insurance market.

Our Queensland‑qualified maritime and shipping specialists advise on charterparties, door‑to‑door transport arrangements, ship sale and purchase and construction, and port and offshore terminal operations. They support clients as they navigate Australian regulatory obligations covering port state control, OH&S, environmental matters, coastal shipping, quarantine and Customs. This includes cargo damage, marine casualty and pollution matters, as well as government investigations and connected civil or criminal proceedings.

The team has noted expertise in obtaining litigation funding for large claims, including major class actions and a significant funded case in the ports sector.

International and domestic trading of energy, mineral and agricultural products also forms a core part of the team’s work, spanning physical and derivatives trading, structured trade and commodity finance, supply‑chain risk management and sanctions compliance. This includes helping clients navigate shifting market conditions, regulatory pressures and cross‑border trading requirements.
