About Paul
Paul has more than 30 years’ experience and is widely recognised as one of Australia’s preeminent insolvency and commercial litigation practitioners, having advised on several of the country’s largest corporate collapses.
He specialises in complex, large scale multi-jurisdictional insolvencies, corporate restructuring, regulatory investigations and commercial disputes as well as the prosecution and defence of class actions.
Paul advises on all aspects of restructuring and insolvency including deeds of company arrangement, schemes of arrangement, safe harbour, business and asset sales, voidable transactions, insolvent trading claims, as well as other complex commercial disputes.
His clients include liquidators, administrators, receivers and managers, banks, secured creditors, ASX listed companies, directors and senior board executives.
Paul is also renowned for pioneering litigation funding in Australia, including the introduction of ATE insurance as an alternative form of security for costs in litigation. He works with funders in the USA, UK and Australia to establish innovative funding vehicles for litigated matters and corporate clients.
Paul is dual qualified in Australia and South Africa.
