Holman Fenwick Willan develops international practice

Following the firm's recent round of Partner promotions, Holman Fenwick Willan today confirmed several developments in its international practice to underpin its position as market leaders for international commerce.

  • Over the last few years, the firm has grown significantly, including opening five new offices and successfully integrating new market-leading aviation and construction teams (ex-BLG and ex-Maxwell Winward respectively). Now, as part of HFW's desire to ensure the business continues to deliver the highest quality legal advice and client service, the firm has completed a global strategic review, resulting in a number of developments to improve its focus on the firm's core sectors. For many years, the firm has approached the market from an industry sector perspective, and this refinement has taken place to further enhance client service and improve co-ordination of activities across offices.
  • Senior Partner Richard Crump relocates to Singapore, in a move that emphasises the importance of the Asia-Pacific region to the continued growth of the firm's business. The firm has had offices in the region for more than 30 years and sees significant opportunities there.
  • The firm's Paris office will move to new larger premises in June, not far from its current office. The office has seen significant growth over the last few years and the current office space no longer meets the requirements of a business which serves both domestic clients operating internationally and an increasing number of international clients operating in the French market. In particular, the office has seen growth in the number of matters it handles relating to Francophone-African countries.

Managing Partner George Eddings said: "These are exciting times for HFW - over the last few years we have grown significantly in direct response to client needs. However, as we look to the future development of the firm, we felt it was an important time to take stock, and to ensure we are able to continue delivering the highest quality legal advice and client service that our clients have come to expect of us."

Senior Partner Richard Crump commented: "We have always been an industry focused firm and these developments demonstrate the firm's desire to provide clients with the experience and capability they need from their legal advisers. On a personal level, I am excited by my move to Singapore and look forward to this next chapter in the firm's development and my own career with great enthusiasm."
