About Violet
She has broad experience working for clients on environmental and emissions regulations affecting both the commodities and shipping sectors. She provides advice and clause drafting in relation to various environmental and other regulations including the EU Methane Emissions Regulation, the EU Batteries Regulation, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
From the shipping side, she has also assisted with drafting advice and clauses relating to the introduction of maritime into the EU ETS, as well as assisting with client queries on FuelEU Maritime. She has worked with clients on various ESG-related projects – including helping to develop an ESG policy, and providing advice relating to a client’s Modern Slavery Act 2015 compliance. She has also contributed to regulatory advice on the MiFID and UK non-MiFID financial regulatory regimes.
Violet speaks fluent French, and has spent six months seconded to the firm’s Singapore office working in the Commodities Litigation team. Since 2020, Violet has also been a volunteer editorial assistant at UKELA (The UK Environmental Law Association) working on e-law, UKELA’s bi-monthly newsletter for environmental law professionals.
