About Johanna

Johanna is an associate in the London Shipping Team. She acts for owners, charterers, offshore contractors, salvors and P&I Clubs on a variety of disputes arising from charterparties, bills of lading, piracy, collisions, fires and groundings. The majority of Johanna’s work involves multi-jurisdictional litigation and arbitration.

Johanna has a Master of Laws in Public International Law (Law of the Sea and International Environmental Law). She advises on international and regional environmental regulations affecting the maritime industry, including the IMO’s and EU’s GHG emissions reduction initiatives. In addition, Johanna provides specialist advice on the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, including on maritime boundaries and the status of maritime zones.

Johanna is a member of HFW’s Sustainability Team and supports clients in navigating the complex regulatory landscape governing energy efficiency, alternative fuels and ESG that impact the shipping industry and international companies more generally. She provides legal support on non-contentious and contentious matters in these areas.

Johanna is qualified in England and Wales and is a native Swedish speaker. She is a member of the Swedish Maritime Law Organisation and regularly works with clients in Sweden and the Nordics.
