HFW wins Export Controls Law Firm of the Year (Europe) 2015

At the recently announced WorldECR Awards, HFW's international trade regulations practice was awarded the Export Controls Law Firm of the Year, Europe, for its work in the area of sanctions.

Focusing specifically on export controls and sanctions, these new awards are designed to recognise "outstanding work, vision, best practice, commercial benefit to the company, and contribution to international security of organisations and individuals working in the fields of export control and sanctions compliance and non-proliferation." Mark Cusik, publisher of WorldECR, noted that competition for the two law firm sanctions awards (Europe and USA) was extremely tough. The firm is noted as combining "deep knowledge relating to sanctions and export controls with in-depth sector knowledge across a clearly-defined range of inter-related sectors (mining, energy – including oil and gas – shipping and air transport, trade and insurance)."
