HFW launches "Global Lawyers' Challenge" for aspiring international lawyers
Leading international law firm, Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW), is launching a competition – the Global Lawyers' Challenge – as a cornerstone of its 2013/14 graduate recruitment campaign.
The Challenge, which is structured in two parts, is designed to emphasise the global nature of the firm's training contract. Currently, all of the firm's Trainees complete at least one seat in an international office and, when it comes to selecting future Trainees, the graduate recruitment team actively look for individuals who show real passion for working in an international environment.
The first stage of the challenge invites entrants to submit a short statement about "what it means to be a truly global lawyer". Ten finalists will then be invited to the firm's London office to make a presentation to a panel of judges, including a Partner, an Associate, a Trainee and a member of HR. At the end of stage two, three winners will each be offered a two night trip to either Paris, Athens or Geneva, including one full day to be spent in HFW's office at the respective location*.
Sarah Burson, HFW's Graduate Recruitment and Development Manager said: "We've never had a problem attracting top quality Trainees, but this year we thought we would raise the bar and set a Challenge which will emphasise the international aspect of our training contract in a fun and exciting way. With the firm's international network of 13 offices, the opportunity for Trainees to travel and gain experience of different business cultures is very real – we want to attract individuals who are going to grasp those opportunities with enthusiasm and commitment."
