The Rotterdam Rules: what's happening?

Piracy update

HFW opens Sydney office

HFW’s Sydney office officially opens for business this week, with launch events in both Melbourne and Sydney.

Attended by up to 200 people in The Belgian Beer Café Eureka, on Melbourne’s Southbank, and 180 people at The Mint, on Macquarie Street, Sydney, the events are hosted by Gavin Vallely, HFW Australia’s Country Head. Guests from across HFW’s client base, other lawyers and legal contacts, and members of the press are expected.

The opening of a Sydney office is the latest step in the development of HFW’s Australian business, which began when the Melbourne office opened in 2006. Since then, the firm’s Australian business has continued to develop strongly, and with the addition of a Sydney office, and especially the international commercial arbitration and complex cross-border dispute resolution capabilities that it brings, HFW now has a cross-practice strength in this very important and dynamic jurisdiction that makes it a leading player in the Australian legal market.
