About Catriona
Catriona is a Professional Support Lawyer in HFW’s global Knowledge team, supporting our British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore offices and their clients. She is also involved in several firmwide knowledge management and legal training projects.
Catriona Hunter is based in the Hong Kong office and is also BVI qualified.
She qualified in Scotland in 2009 and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland. Catriona relocated to the British Virgin Islands in 2015 and was admitted as a BVI Legal Practitioner in 2016. During her time in the BVI, Catriona’s practice focussed on commercial litigation and insolvency work and she was a director of RISA BVI (April 2017 – April 2019). Catriona moved to Hong Kong in 2021, advising on BVI and Cayman law disputes and insolvency & restructuring matters, and is a Registered Foreign Lawyer, regulated by the Law Society of Hong Kong. Catriona was a director of the Hong Kong chapter of IWIRC (August 2021 – June 2022).
Prior to working in knowledge management, Catriona was a disputes fee earner and has a broad experience of general commercial litigation work, including corporate and personal insolvency, corporate disputes, professional indemnity claims and debt recovery work. She regularly advised creditors, liquidators, receivers, company directors, trustees and registered agents in complex, cross border disputes and insolvencies. Catriona has a keen interest in ADR, in particular mediation and arbitration.
