Global, sector-focused law firm HFW has continued to broaden its offering to clients with the hire of senior real estate expert Christian Taylor in London.

Christian has been a law firm partner for 20 years and has experience across several of HFW’s core sectors, including ports & terminals, aviation, insurance, and logistics, advising clients on a wide range of issues from landlord and tenant matters to financing and development.

He also advises on the real estate aspects of corporate transactions, and acts for investors in commercial and high-end residential real estate, and for developers of residential, commercial, and mixed-use schemes, where he will work closely with HFW’s corporate, yachts, and business aviation teams.

Christian joins HFW as a Consultant, having previously spent more than five years as a partner at the firm in London and Dubai.

Jeremy Shebson, Managing Partner, HFW:

“Christian is an outstanding lawyer, with decades of experience, and we’re very pleased to welcome him back to HFW. He knows our teams, our clients, and our sectors – we’ve actually been referring real estate matters to him ever since he left HFW – so it made perfect sense for us to reunite. We see real opportunity for us to provide specialist real estate support to our major sector clients, as well as high-net-worth individuals that we advise, such as owners of ships, yachts, and business jets.”

Christian Taylor, Consultant, HFW:

“I’m very excited to be re-joining HFW and adding to the firm’s global real estate capability. The firm has grown significantly since I left, and it now offers a unique combination of a true sector focus and extensive international reach, which makes a huge difference to clients. HFW also has a special culture that truly emphasises collaboration, which makes it a unique place to work.”

Christian’s arrival continues a period of rapid expansion for HFW across its core sectors and international network that has made it one of the fastest-growing law firms in the market.

HFW has now added more than 50 new partners and teams since FY23 – equivalent to more than a quarter of its entire partnership globally – including hires in Hong KongKuwait CityLondonMelbourneParisPerthPiraeusRiyadhSingapore, and Sydney.

The firm also established a new entity in Saudi Arabia to continue the growth of its leading Middle East offering, and launched an office in Shenzhen to support its clients in China’s Greater Bay Area.

HFW has more than 700 lawyers and 21 offices across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, providing leading advice to clients in the aerospace, commodities, construction, energy, insurance, and shipping sectors. It was recently named UK Firm of the Year at the British Legal Awards – one of the industry’s top honours.
