Will advises on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, primarily for clients in the insurance sector. His experience includes M&A, joint ventures, (re)insurance arrangements, commutations, transactions specific to the Lloyd’s market, and insurtech products. Will has provided regulatory advice on Part IV authorisation issues, distribution arrangements, intra-group arrangements and the use of appointed representatives. He advises a number of P&I Clubs and mutuals, and has also advised several entities on the acquisition or disposal of run-off business by way of a loss portfolio reinsurance and subsequent Part VII transfer.

Chambers UK 2018-2024 state that Will is “absolutely excellent” and highly regarded for his “robust insurance practice, advising clients on an array of transactional and regulatory matters”, including “acquisitions and reinsurance agreements” and “insurtech and other new products”.

Will also advised on the 2021 Fan-Led Review of Football Governance, helping to design the proposed regulatory framework, by adapting financial regulation principles and processes for the football context.

Will is the Vice Chair of the Insurance Regulation sub-committee of the International Bar Association’s Insurance Committee, and has spent time on secondment to the Prudential Regulation Authority, to a Lloyd’s managing agency and to HFW’s Dubai office.
