About Simon
Simon Williams is a Consultant in HFW’s Insurance Transactions and Regulation team.
He is a highly experienced corporate, commercial and regulatory lawyer, with particular expertise in the (re)insurance sector.
Before consulting, Simon served as General Counsel for a financial services organisation and was a Chambers recognised Partner at a leading firm.
Simon is known for his proactive, commercial and business-focused approach, and has a proven track record of solving complex, high value and technical issues. He delivers commercial solutions for a diverse client base, including large public companies, industry bodies, start-ups and a Central Bank.
His expertise spans M&A, joint ventures, restructuring, private equity transactions, data privacy, outsourcing and commercial agreements (including SaaS), regulatory advice, insurance wordings and claims, and corporate litigation. He has contributed to many industry committees and working groups, including co-chairing the LMA Lawyers’ Forum for four years.
Simon practises English law and is also admitted (non-practising) in Australia (NSW), Ireland and Northern Ireland.
