About Tarek
Tarek is a bilingual (Arabic/English) lawyer with over 14 years of experience, specialises in Intellectual Property and Corporate Commercial Law. His expertise covers transactional work, mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, franchising and agencies, intellectual property. Tarek has good amount of experience in aviation and aircraft financing. He has provided his legal services to numerous of local and international clients in different sectors, including petrochemical industries, industrial gases manufacturers, banks, financial institutions, education, healthcare, aviation.
Tarek has led numerous mergers and acquisition transactions in the State of Kuwait, and his role extended from preparing due diligence reports, drafting transactional documents such as share purchase agreements, shareholders agreements, amendments to the memorandum and articles of association, and negotiation with transaction’s parties and the concerned government authorities.
Before joining HFW, Tarek worked as a Senior Associate in the Corporate Commercial Department at a leading regional law firm, and during this time, he worked on secondment for one of the largest real estate companies in Kuwait and the region. He has participated in commercial negotiations with the client’s supplier, distributors and government relations, as well as advising clients on legal issues related to their company’s activities and projects.
He has also headed the legal department of a leading industrial gases manufacturer in Kuwait. Tarek, started his career as an IP Lawyer in one of the largest global IP firms in Jordan, before he moved to Kuwait in 2009 to work as an IP Lawyer/ Department Manager at the firm’s branch in Kuwait.
