About Owen

Owen is a partner in the Commodities team and also works closely with the Shipping department. He has broad experience acting on behalf of clients in relation to contentious and non-contentious matters concerning the international sale and carriage of goods. 

Owen specialises in the sale and purchase of commodities, ancillary contracts of carriage (including bills of lading, charterparties and contracts of affreightment), sanctions laws, vessel arrest and maritime personal injury. He has acted on behalf of clients in numerous court and arbitral proceedings, including before GAFTA, LMAA, SIAC and GTA. He regularly acts for commodity trading houses, insurers, port infrastructure owners and users, shipping companies and vessel charterers, among other entities operating in the trade and energy sectors. He also advises owners, charters and financial institutions on yacht-related disputes.
