About Jo
Jo specialises in complex dispute resolution with particular focus on cross-border matters resolved through mediation, arbitration and litigation.
Jo has extensive experience in advising on and resolving disputes in the construction industry for various types of projects including infrastructure, energy and resource projects. She has also worked on disputes relating to renewable projects, climate change and the environment, as well as a range of commercial disputes across different industries.
Jo has experience in conducting arbitrations under all of the major arbitral institutional rules, including the ICC, LCIA, SIAC, AAA, UNCITRAL and ICSID arbitration rules, relating to most regions across the world. Jo has represented both investors and state parties in a number of investment arbitrations under the ICSID Convention and arbitration rules and the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.
Jo was Australia’s alternate member to the ICC Court of Arbitration from 2018 to 2024, and is a member of ACICA’s Professional Advisory Board and Practice and Procedures Board, the ILA (Australia Branch) Management Committee and Co-Chair of The Pledge APAC Steering Committee.
Qualified in New South Wales (Australia) and England & Wales, Jo has worked in London and Sydney.
Jo is ranked as a WWL Thought Leader in Arbitration, Best Lawyers and Band 2 in Chambers Dispute Resolution: Arbitration 2024. She is known to “provide excellent advice on arbitration issues and she’s very responsive”.
