About Nick

Nick has a broad corporate/commercial practice. He specialises in transactional, corporate and commercial law with particular reference to the energy, insurance, commodities and transport industries. His practice spans a wide range of areas, including national and international mergers and acquisitions; joint ventures; private equity transactions; regulation (both international and UK); capital markets (issues of debt and equity); and complex international restructuring.

He advises boards of public and private companies on corporate governance and compliance issues. He has considerable experience of the UK and international anti-money laundering and financial sanctions regimes.

In March 2018, Nick was named as “Star” practitioner by market research company Acritas. The Star nominations are based on interviews with more than 4,300 senior in-house counsel around the world, who were asked to identify the best lawyers they had worked with in the previous year. Clients praised Nick’s professionalism, knowledge, creative thinking, willingness to help and availability. “He is able to give simple answers that everybody can understand,” said one client. Another said that Nick is “calm under a crisis” and that you can always “trust the advice that he is giving”.

Nick is qualified in England and Wales.
