About Christina
Christina is a Senior Associate in HFW’s Commodities team with over a decade of experience in Dubai, Singapore and London advising clients on complex cross-border trading disputes, trade finance, and risk management.
Christina provides practical, commercial, and cost-effective legal solutions to clients including oil and gas supermajors, commodity producers and traders, mining majors, trade financiers, shipowners and charterers. She specialises in disputes triggered by geopolitical disruption, including claims arising from default, non-delivery, and force majeure under trading contracts and charterparties.
Christina is also experienced with trade finance disputes, most notably matters involving large-scale trade finance frauds linked to the collapse of major Asian trading houses, concerning letters of credit, receivables purchase agreements and guarantees, with damages claims of up to US$1.4bn. She has assisted with urgent relief, including worldwide freezing orders and emergency arbitration awards.
Alongside her contentious practice, Christina routinely leads the drafting and negotiation of international trading contracts, charterparties and trade finance documents, including prepayment, offtake and receivables purchase agreements.
Christina is admitted to practice law in England & Wales (2016) and previously worked in the commodities and maritime groups of leading international law firms in London and Singapore.
She represents clients in the English and DIFC Courts, as well as under all major arbitration rules, including SIAC, DIAC, LCIA, HKIAC, LMAA, SCMA and ICC.
Christina actively supports initiatives promoting equality in the maritime and commodities sectors. Whilst based in Singapore, she sat on the DEI Committee of Women in Mining and Commodities Singapore, she is a student member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, and a member of the Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association.
