About Andrew
Andrew has a broad commercial and commodities practice which combines both dispute resolution and transactional / advisory matters.
Andrew has handled a number of high profile energy, off-shore and commercial litigation / arbitration matters. Nearly all of the cases he handles have an international / multi-jurisdictional element. Andrew has run major litigation in both the English and Hong Kong first instance and appellate courts and has conducted arbitration proceedings under most of the major arbitration rules including ICC, LCIA, SIAC and UNCITRAL.
Andrew also specialises in contract drafting and contract review work providing risk management and contract advice to clients, particularly those in the energy, commodities and shipping sectors. He regularly drafts, negotiates and advises on sale and purchase agreements, master agreements and trading documentation for most energy related commodities and derivatives including oil, LNG, coal, metals, sulphur, biomass and carbon credits.
Andrew’s general dispute resolution work spans a wide range of areas including banking, financial services, insolvency, director / shareholder, fraud, professional negligence, commercial agency, employment and general contract / tort disputes. He is regarded within HFW as a specialist in letters of credit and UCP 600 and regularly writes articles and give seminars / presentations on this topic.
Andrew has in-house experience having been on secondment at Gazprom. He has also previously been recognised in the Legal 500 for the quality of his work.
