About Max
Max Wieliczko is a Partner in HFW’s Construction team has specialised in construction law since 1987. He leads on complex international engineering and infrastructure disputes, including projects exceeding US$2.5 billion and claims of over US$800 million.
Over the past 15 years, Max has focused on heavy engineering including renewables and offshore. His work spans ports, railways, tunnelling, decommissioning, process plants and energy – including oil, waste-to-energy, hydro, and solar.
Offshore engineering projects include advising on around 70% of the UK’s offshore wind capacity, involving the world’s largest offshore wind projects, measured by capacity, turbine count, and by foundation scale.
Max frequently advises on project support and dispute resolution involving cutting-edge technologies and multi-jurisdictional legal frameworks under both common law and civil law systems, including arbitration, DABs, and local courts. His team has resolved major disputes across the Middle East, South America, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Europe.
