About Ian

Ian is a finance and transactional Partner with specialist experience in the shipping, yacht, business aviation and insurance sectors, working closely with colleagues across our sector groups in these areas. Ian advises a broad client base including commercial and private banks, funds, shipowners, managers, operators and family offices on a variety of cases including new financings, sale and purchase, leasing, restructurings, work outs and enforcements. Ian has a particular focus on package deals where maritime and aviation assets are involved in the same structure.  

Ian has previously worked in Hong Kong and has also spent a year seconded to an international bank.  He is also a member of the executive committee of Superyacht UK (part of the British Marine Federation), the membership association of the UK superyacht industry, representing the interests of the industry in the UK and internationally.

Ian contributed the UK chapter of Getting the Deal Through Ship Finance 2023, which contains international insights into all areas of finance and vessel ownership affecting the international shipping industry. It is available to download by clicking here.
