Investor-State Arbitration in Energy Transition: Risks, Protections and Emerging Trends.

Join us for our fourth webinar as part of our International Arbitration Webinar Series for 2026, where our speakers will explore Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) in the context of energy transition projects.

Our speakers will consider how international investors can use investor-state arbitration to protect their investments from unwanted government interference, including permit withdrawals, unforeseen taxes, failure to prevent disruption by environmental protestors, or the impact of potential new tariffs.

The session will incorporate a focus on the energy transition, with a particular emphasis on renewables-related projects.

We will outline the key steps and challenges in bringing an investor-state arbitration claim in Energy Transition projects, as well as key trends in this increasingly important area of law. The discussion will include the types of claims that typically arise across the mining and oil and gas, power and renewables, and construction sectors.
