About Nelson
Nelson Wang is a Partner in HFW’s global Insurance & Reinsurance team. He advises insurers, reinsurers, brokers and corporates on complex insurance and commercial disputes. His practice spans insurance and reinsurance coverage disputes, liability defence and subrogated recoveries, with a particular focus on product liability and safety, supply chain risks, property damage, business interruption and construction. He also supports clients on related regulatory, commercial and corporate matters.
Originally from Shenzhen, Nelson works closely with HFW’s teams in London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Singapore on cross-border matters involving China. He serves as Secretary and a committee member of the Association of Chinese Insurance Professionals in the UK. Native in Mandarin and Cantonese, he is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and admitted to the New York Bar.
He is heavily involved in the handling of high-profile matters, including the FCA Test Case, Stonegate v MS Amlin & Ors, and Policyholders v China Taiping Insurance, for which his team received industry recognition.
