About Tariq

Tariq is a Senior Associate in HFW’s shipping litigation team where he advises on cargo claims, ship arrests, charterparty, collision, general average, civil, commercial, criminal, and general litigation disputes.

Prior to joining HFW Tariq worked at a prominent Emirati law firm from 2013 in the Transport and Insurance Department. He was involved in variety of contentious matters including insurance, aviation, and general litigation matters with a particular focus on maritime. He then worked as a litigator in Amman, Jordan, where he handled general civil, commercial and tax disputes.

Tariq is a qualified Jordanian lawyer qualifying in 2008.

Tariq’s Publications include: The Law Reviews, the Shipping Law Review United Arab Emirates 2022.

Tariq holds an L.L.B from the University of Jordan, 2006, an L.L.M in International Trade Law from the University of Wales, UK, 2010. He also holds a second L.L.M in Commercial Law from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, 2012.
