About Tariq
Tariq is a Senior Associate in HFW’s Shipping team.
Tariq specialises in shipping and commercial litigation, advising clients on cargo claims, ship arrests, charterparty disputes, collisions, general average matters, and complex civil, commercial and criminal proceedings across the Middle East.
He regularly acts for shipowners, charterers, insurers and other maritime industry participants in high-value and cross-border disputes. His experience also extends to insurance, aviation and general commercial litigation matters.
Prior to joining HFW, Tariq practised with a leading Emirati law firm in its Transport and Insurance department and later worked as a litigator in Jordan, handling a broad range of civil, commercial and tax disputes.
Tariq is a qualified Jordanian lawyer, holds two Master of Laws (LL.M.) degrees in International Trade Law and Commercial Law, and is a contributing author to The Shipping Law Review: United Arab Emirates.
