Simon provides crisis management, handles disputes and offers support to clients who operate in hostile or complex environments.

He is a member of HFW’s global Complex Environment team as well as the Admiralty and Crisis Management team.

He has first-hand experience of operating in hostile environments. Firstly, as an officer in the Royal Marines, where he served on operational duties abroad, and then in the National Crime Agency. He also, from his time as a shipbroker, has a wealth of experience conducting business within frontier markets. He has previously been security cleared to a high government standard.

He services a broad spectrum of clients operating in complex environments, including large multinational companies, extractive companies, special risk insurers, private security/private military companies and shipping companies. He utilises his extensive experiences to better understand the issues facing those clients and then to provide robust solutions to those issues.

Simon also specialises in handling major marine casualties and has acted on a number of recent high-profile collisions, fires, salvages, captures/seizures and war risk incidents.

Simon is qualified in England and Wales.
