About Richard
Richard is a Partner in the Construction team. He specialises in construction and engineering matters, both in the UK and internationally. He qualified in 2003 and has been part of the team since 2005.
As well as regularly supporting clients with contract negotiations, he is also widely recognised for his practical and commercial approach to managing issues as they arise during project delivery. He has a hands-on approach and spent two years on secondment with a leading European EPC contractor.
He is known for developing and implementing effective strategies for resolving disputes. Richard is an experienced party representative and advocate in adjudication, DAB and arbitration proceedings.
Richard’s experience spans a wide range of infrastructure and energy projects, with particular expertise in offshore wind, having advised on some of the very largest projects globally (including floating wind).
He has extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex, high-value construction contracts, including EPC, EPCI, and turnkey agreements, as well as standard forms such as FIDIC, NEC, JCT, and LOGIC.
