About Rachel
Rachel is a Senior Associate in HFW’S Construction team, based in Sydney. She has extensive experience in advising clients on a broad range of large-scale infrastructure, construction, engineering, commercial and international trade and customs disputes, including in arbitrations, litigation, mediation and adjudication.
In the construction and engineering disputes space, she has acted for contractors, design engineering consultants and other specialist subcontractors across the East and West Coast of Australia. The breadth of Rachel’s experience includes acting for clients in complex matters that intersect insurance, construction and engineering in both litigated and unlitigated matters.
Some of Rachel’s recent matters have included successfully defending a significant arbitral claim in relation to the attempted claw back by the Principal of approved variations arising from the discovery of latent conditions across multiple sites. In addition, acting for one of Australia’s leading building and architectural firms in a dispute relating to the design and construction of a private educational facility in the ACT (ongoing).
