About Marianna
Marianna is an Associate in HFW’s Shipping Litigation team. She combines strong legal analysis and deep shipping law expertise with a strategic mindset. She focuses on providing clear, practical advice while approaching the legal merits tactically to achieve the best outcomes for her clients.
Marianna advises on all disputes arising out of shipping documents (including charterparties, bills of lading, booking notes, contracts of affreightment and vessel sharing agreements) covering both casualty related and purely contractual issues. She works across both dry and wet cases, supporting and representing shipowners, charterers and all parties of the shipping industry from the early stages of a dispute or casualty through to final resolution. Her experience also includes extensive work with container lines, advising on disputes under shipping contracts and complex logistics agreements.
Before joining HFW in 2025, Marianna spent three and a half years in the shipping disputes team of an international law firm in London and six months working in a P&I Club.
Marianna holds an LLM in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton (top of class). She is qualified in England & Wales (2023) and Greece (2020).
