About Caroline
Caroline is a Senior Associate in HFW’s commodities team.
She is an English qualified lawyer with particular expertise in commodities, shipping and international trade. Caroline’s practice covers both disputes and advisory work and she regularly works with banks, commodities traders and charterers.
Caroline drafts and reviews contracts and charter parties. She also represents clients in arbitration and litigation matters and regularly works on arbitrations under ICC, LCIA, SIAC, LMAA, GAFTA and FOSFA rules.
In the commodities sector, Caroline has experience with crude oil, petroleum products, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, grains and vegetable oils. She also has particular expertise in metals.
In the banking sector, Caroline has acted for a number of Swiss banks in relation to recoveries arising from counterparty default, fraud and insolvency. In particular, Caroline has worked on a number of claims under bills of lading held by banks as part of their security package.
Caroline lectures on arbitration and shipping at the University of Fribourg.
Caroline has also worked in HFW’s shipping and commodities teams in Dubai and Australia.
