Commercial Shipping Breakfast Webinar

HFW would like to invite you to a Commercial Shipping Breakfast Webinar.

Event Webinar
Wednesday 14 January 2026
Thursday 15 January 2026

Welcome to the second bi-annual Commercial Shipping Breakfast series. Two themes dominated shipping in 2025: tariffs and sustainability.

Operating ships today is to navigate a minefield of fees, taxes and fines imposed by a variety of States, while at the same time considering ways to maximise profits or minimise exposure through the trading of sustainability credits. Throw into the mix the global sustainability drive to electrify propulsion via the use of lithium-ion batteries and arguably the world of chartering has never been so regulatory complex, political and physically dangerous.

As we start 2026, chaired by William Gidman, we invite you to join us for one of two seminars convenient for your time zone to explore these issues and how they might develop.

William Gidman will consider the impact of a variety of taxes, fines and trade wars on chartering and best practices to future proof your business.

Tom Walters will look at the concerning growing trend of lithium-ion battery fires on containerships, car carriers and bulkers.

Ben Bryant will provide an update on key current issues in emissions regulations (including commercial pooling agreements under Fuel EU and thoughts on the postponed IMO NZF vote)

The seminar will run twice, covering the same topics for the benefit of worldwide markets.

14 January 2026: 14:00 (GMT) | 09:00 (EST)

15 January 2026: 09:00 (GMT) | 17:00 (SST)
