HFW’s Global Head of Shipping Paul Dean has once again been named by Lloyd’s List as one of the 100 most influential people in the maritime industry and one of the market’s top 10 lawyers.

Lloyd’s List says the list recognises “those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, and the unsung heroes that have steered shipping on a steady course through this period of untold upheaval”.

As HFW’s Global Head of Shipping, Paul leads the world’s largest shipping and maritime practice, with more than 200 specialist lawyers and Master Mariners across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, specialising in dry shipping, admiralty and crisis management, and transactional work.

Paul also maintains a busy practice advising clients on offshore- and marine-related issues, focusing mainly on charterparties, bills of lading, shipbuilding, rig disputes, collisions, fire and explosion, salvage, general average, groundings, total loss, towage, seismic and limitation.

Paul Dean, Global Head of Shipping, HFW:

“I am honoured to be recognised as a top maritime lawyer by Lloyd’s List for the second successive year. While this is an individual accolade, it is very much a reflection of the incredibly strong shipping and maritime team that we have globally at HFW. I feel fortunate and proud to work with such talented and hard-working people.”

It is the second consecutive year that Paul has been named by Lloyd’s List as one of the market’s top 10 shipping lawyers. HFW shipping Partner Rory Butler featured in the list in 2018.

HFW is the reigning Excellence in Maritime Law winner at the Lloyd’s List Global Awards, which recognises the world’s best shipping law firm.
