Global, sector-focused law firm HFW has again been ranked by The Times as one of the UK’s top maritime practices.
HFW is one of the top three law firms ranked for shipping by The Times, which describes it as a “leading firm” in the sector and “one of the market’s largest and most active disputes practices”.
The Times also notes that HFW “helps clients achieve their sustainability goals, from energy transition and offshore wind to climate finance”.
HFW has been serving clients in the shipping and maritime industry for 140 years. The firm has more than 200 shipping lawyers across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, specialising in the full range of dry shipping, admiralty and crisis management, and transactional work.
HFW recently boosted its already leading Middle East shipping team with the hire of top-ranked partners Rob Lawrence and Ian Chung, making it unquestionably the number one shipping practice in the region, and further strengthened its offering in Australia with the hire of partner Ashwin Nair in Perth.
HFW is also ranked by The Times as one of the UK’s eight top construction practices, and among the leaders for commercial disputes.
The rankings are based on a survey of more than 4,400 solicitors across England, Wales and Scotland. Less than 3% of law firms recommended by respondents made it into the final rankings.
HFW has now been ranked as one of the UK’s top maritime practices every year since The Times first published its report.
