On 23 May 2013, HFW was delighted to host a drinks reception onboard the Lord Nelson, “flagship” for the Jubilee Sailing Trust’s mission to enable people of all physical abilities to sail side-by-side as equals.
The tall ship was in Singapore ahead of a six-day voyage as part of a Sail the World Challenge. She will return to Singapore on Monday 3 June before departing a week later on 10 June bound for Fremantle, Australia on the latest leg of her 50,000-mile circumnavigation.
Lord Nelson, was designed to enable physically disabled people, including wheelchair users, to sail alongside their non-disabled peers as equals. The bespoke features on board include hearing loops, wheelchair lifts, integrated Braille instructions and speaking compasses.
