HFW has advised the Democratic Republic of Congo

HFW has advised the Democratic Republic of Congo in relation to a complex joint venture to create Primera Gold DRC and Primera Metals DRC.

The purpose of the JV between the DRC and the United Arab Emirates is the artisanal exploitation of 3T minerals and gold, and to fight mining fraud in the DRC.

The signing of the contracts for the JV is the culmination of talks that began a year ago, when Congolese President Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo met with his Emirati counterpart in Abu Dhabi.

HFW’s team advising the government of the Democratic Republic of Congo was led by Corporate Partner Alex Kyriakoulis in London and Partner Stanislas Lequette in Paris.
