International law firm Holman Fenwick Willan (HFW) continues to expand its energy practice with the recruitment of Jayson Marks who has joined the firm’s oil and gas group as a corporate Partner, effective 6 May 2015.

Jayson has particular experience in the upstream oil and gas sector having acted for exploration and production companies and service companies for many years and been seconded to a significant Nigerian oil and gas company. He specialises in domestic and cross-border acquisitions and disposals, investments, joint ventures, commercial contracts, public takeovers, IPOs and other equity capital markets transactions.

Alistair Mackie, head of the firm’s energy and resources practice said: “We are pleased to welcome Jayson to our growing international oil and gas practice. Volatility in the oil and gas sector means that companies are looking at a range of investment and restructuring opportunities and Jayson’s experience in this area will further strengthen the capability we can offer to our international client base.”

Jayson commented: “I am delighted to be joining HFW’s strong oil and gas team and am looking forward to helping the firm take advantage of the opportunities for further growth in this area.”

Jayson’s recruitment comes on the back of other significant hires into the firm’s oil and gas team, including Partners Jonathan Martin and Alexander Reid.

Jayson joins the firm from Pinsent Masons.
