HFW appointed as Honorary Solicitors to Worshipful Company of Shipwrights

Global, sector-focused law firm HFW has been appointed as Honorary Solicitors to one of the City of London’s oldest livery companies, The Worshipful Company of Shipwrights.

HFW has agreed to serve as the Company’s external legal advisor for an initial period of two years.

The Worshipful Company of Shipwrights was established more than 700 years ago to safeguard the quality of shipbuilding in London.

Today, the Company has a strong philanthropic purpose and donates annually to maritime related causes, individuals, charities and companies.

The Company has a particular emphasis on assisting young people and provides support to a variety of organisations including the Sea Cadets, the Tall Ships Youth Trust and Jubilee Sailing Trust, as well as George Green’s School in Tower Hamlets and the London Nautical School in Lambeth. The Company also supports undergraduate university students at Newcastle, Southampton and Strathclyde, and the Shipwrights’ Apprenticeship Scheme, in partnership with Lloyd’s Register Foundation.
