About Jacek
Jacek is a Registered Foreign Lawyer in HFW’s Commodities team, based in Hong Kong. He is a commercial disputes lawyer who advises clients on international arbitration, litigation and dispute avoidance across the shipping, commodities and international trade sectors.
He acts for shipowners, charterers, traders, insurers and other participants in the global supply chain on a broad range of contentious matters, including charterparty disputes, cargo claims, sanctions issues, force majeure events and geopolitical disruption affecting international trade.
Jacek has particular experience advising on sanctions and trade-related issues, including matters arising from Iranian sanctions, Red Sea and Houthi-related disruption, war risks and deviations. Having previously completed an in-house secondment with a major international shipping company, he combines legal expertise with a practical understanding of the commercial realities facing clients in the maritime sector.
Called to the Bar of England and Wales before qualifying as a solicitor, Jacek regularly drafts submissions and advises clients in complex arbitration proceedings. He has worked in London, Germany and Hong Kong and is admitted as a Registered Foreign Lawyer in Hong Kong.
