About Shane

Shane is a Senior Associate in the Insurance & Reinsurance sector and the principal point of contact in Geneva for insurance related queries, having re-located from HFW Dubai in 2022.

He advises on both contentious and non-contentious insurance matters. On the dispute resolution side, Shane acts on claims and subrogated recoveries involving complex policies, with a focus on credit, political risk, financial lines, D&O, corporate crime, employee fidelity, professional indemnity, cyber and marine. He has acted for insurers, policyholders (principally banks and traders) and brokers in high value disputes before the English High Court, Swiss Courts, DIFC Courts, onshore UAE Courts and Irish High Court, and arbitral panels.

On the non-contentious side, Shane advises on non-payment insurance structuring, CRR/Basel compliance, and regulatory issues, particularly in the UAE. He also drafts bespoke credit insurance wordings and advises commodity traders on insurance and compliance.

He is qualified in England and Ireland.
