Shane is a Senior Associate in Geneva, whose practice incorporates both commercial disputes and corporate regulatory advice.
Shane is the principal point of contact in Geneva for insurance related queries. Shane acts on claims and subrogated recoveries involving complex policies, with a focus on credit, political risk, financial lines, D&O, corporate crime, employee fidelity, professional indemnity, cyber and marine. He has acted for insurers, policyholders (principally banks and traders) and brokers in high value disputes before the English High Court, Swiss Courts, DIFC Courts, onshore UAE Courts, Irish High Court and various arbitration tribunals.
On the non-contentious side, Shane frequently advises on banks on non-payment insurance/guarantee structuring, CRR/Basel compliance, and other regulatory issues. He has also drafted bespoke credit insurance wordings for banks and insurers and provides general insurance advice to brokers, traders, and other corporates.
Shane’s expertise also incorporates advice on sports related matters, both in terms of drafting contractual documentation and advising on regulatory compliance (including licencing queries, data protection and corporate structure).
He is qualified in England and Ireland.
