About Rhys
Rhys advises on international commercial disputes, focusing primarily on insurance and reinsurance coverage and liability issues. He has acted for policyholders, brokers and insurers across several lines of business (including property/casualty, business interruption, marine, trade credit and professional indemnity insurance).
Rhys works mainly on complex, high-value and multi-jurisdictional disputes, which are normally either heard in the English High Court or otherwise resolved through arbitration, mediation or negotiated settlement. Rhys has worked under ARIAS, LCIA, LMAA and UNICTRAL arbitration rules.
Rhys has worked in-house as a technical property claims hander with a multinational insurance company gaining first-hand industry experience. He also supported HFW’s insurance and reinsurance team in Dubai as part of his training, working on both contentious and regulatory matters.
Rhys is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales.
