More about James

James Plant is a Senior Associate in our Dubai office, with 10 years' experience in construction and engineering disputes. James relocated from our London office to Dubai in 2015. He has worked on construction disputes in the Middle East for much of his career, having previously spent two years on secondment to an international contractor based on a project site in Qatar.

He acts for contractors and employers on disputes relating to oil and gas pipelines, process plant, infrastructure, energy from waste, offshore wind, tunnelling, sub-sea cables and hydroelectric projects. He works on projects throughout the region and often travels to visit clients in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He advises on disputes under UAE, Kuwaiti and Qatari law, as well as English law.

James specialises in Arbitration and Litigation in local courts. He is also experienced in Dispute Adjudication Boards, Mediation and other forms of ADR. Much of his work involves large and complex, multi-billion dollar claims. He often speaks at HFW seminars and external conferences, and is named as a recommended construction lawyer in Legal 500.
