About Richard
Richard covers insurance and reinsurance and, in particular, he handles high value and/or complex claims. With a strong background in professional indemnity and liability work Richard has branched into marine, construction, energy and ISR (including business interruption, delay in start-up, and ALOP). He is highly experienced in both direct insurance and reinsurance/retrocessions. Current high profile matters in which he is instructed include the Victorian bushfires class action litigation and various high value Queensland flood claims.
He also advises on brokers’ E&O, Directors & Officers’ liability, insurance architecture (including captives) and contract certainty.
Richard is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIAB), a member of Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA) and an associate member of the Australia New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF).
He is dual qualified in Australia and England.
