About Paul

Paul is a Senior Master Mariner based in HFW’s London office and forms part of our Shipping Emergency Response team. Paul has been in the team for 10 years and deals with marine casualties including collisions, fires, groundings, cargo claims, unsafe port claims, piracy and salvage. Before joining HFW, Paul spent 6 years working in the offshore sector, conducting rig moves and offshore supply roles, with areas of operation including North Sea, Africa, Brazil and Asia Pacific.

Paul has sailed as Master on Anchor Handlers, Platform Supply Vessels and a spell with Sail Training. He has 21 years seagoing experience including cruise ships and freight RoRo vessels, with experience in both modern integrated bridge systems, ECDIS and Dynamic Positioning.

Paul holds an HND in Nautical Science, a certificate in Marine Salvage Law, a certificate in Maritime law and an Unlimited Dynamic Positioning Certificate. In addition Paul is an approved ISM auditor and is trained in Trauma Risk Management.
