Patrick is a Legal Director in HFW’s Commodities team based in London.

He specialises in international trade and shipping litigation, advising on both complex long-running disputes and operational contract issues.

Patrick has acted for buyers, sellers, owners, charterers, shipbuilders, repairers, and insurers, including P&I Clubs, across a wide range of matters, from charterparty and bill of lading disputes to unsafe port claims, general average, and total loss incidents.

He has represented clients in the Commercial Court/the Business and Property Courts of England and Wales, LMAA, LCIA, GAFTA and FOSFA arbitrations, as well as in mediations and appeals to the Court of Appeal and the then House of Lords.

Patrick has extensive procedural experience, including anti-suit injunctions, freezing orders, and ship arrests. He has worked in HFW’s overseas offices and completed secondments with commercial clients and a P&I Club.

He is qualified in England and Wales.
