About Nicola

Nicola is widely regarded as one of the rising stars in the maritime legal sector in Asia. She is recognised as a Leading Partner for Shipping in the Legal 500 Greater China Guide 2026.

Nicola specialises in the full spectrum of shipping and maritime matters, advising clients throughout the shipping lifecycle, from shipbuilding contract negotiations and newbuilding deliveries to casualties, cargo claims, charterparty disputes, container vessel claims, crew and personal injury claims, marine insurance matters, constructive or actual total loss cases. She also has significant experience handling all aspects of P&I and FD&D disputes. 

In addition, Nicola advises shipowners, operators and traders on a broad range of transactional and advisory matters, including ship sale and purchase, newbuilding projects, contract negotiations, charterparties and wreck removal contracts.

Nicola regularly represents clients in proceedings before the Hong Kong and English Courts, as well as LMAA, HKIAC, HKMAG, SIAC, SCMA and CIETAC arbitrations. She also has extensive experience in matters involving ship arrests, winding-up proceedings, the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards, and criminal investigations and prosecutions relating to maritime and environmental liabilities. 

Fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, Nicola works closely with shipowners, operators, insurers and traders across Greater China and the Asia-Pacific region.

Nicola is qualified in Hong Kong, England & Wales, and the Greater Bay Area.
