About Nicholas

Nick is the Chief Representative of HFW Shanghai. Originally a student of history graduating from Cambridge University, Nick started out in HFW London in 2001 and moved to Shanghai in 2006.

Throughout his career, Nick has specialised in international shipping and trade disputes. His clients include leading shipowners, shipbuilders, operators, traders and leasing companies in China. He also frequently acts on the instructions of local PRC law firms, and was the founding member of HFW’s association in the Shanghai FTZ with Wintell & Co in 2016.

Nick frequently acts in arbitrations in London, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia and has represented clients in a number of cases before the commercial courts in London.

Nick has a leading ranking in Chambers China for shipping litigation. Chambers quotes one particular client as saying that “his local knowledge and his understanding of the Chinese legal system prove enormously beneficial”. Nick is also listed as a recommended lawyer for Transport – shipping in Who’s Who Legal and named as a leading individual in the Legal 500 Asia Pacific Guide.

在彭律师的职业生涯中，他一直专注于国际航运和贸易纠纷领域。他的客户包括中国领先的船东、造船厂、运营商、贸易商和租赁公司。他还经常接受中国本地律师事务所的委托处理法律事务。此外，他是 2016 年夏礼文与瀛泰律师事务所在上海自贸区共同设立的联营律所的创始人。

彭律师经常代表客户参与在伦敦、香港、新加坡和澳大利亚的仲裁，并在伦敦的商事法庭的一些案件中代表客户。
