About Laurent
Laurent is a Swiss‑qualified lawyer and a Partner in HFW’s Aerospace team, based in Geneva. With more than 20 years’ experience focused on aerospace matters, he offers a holistic aerospace practice, combining regulatory, transactional and contentious expertise for insurers, airlines, business jet operators/owners, manufacturers, airports, handling agents and government stakeholders. He also advises clients in the commodities and transport sectors.
He advises and represents clients on liability and insurance, including coverage, defence, and subrogation, with particular experience in the aerospace, transport, jewellery and fine art sectors. Laurent also provides regulatory guidance across international and EU air law, covering aircraft operations, airworthiness and certification, environment, airport matters and traffic rights (market access).
Laurent’s work also includes commercial and transactional support, from bespoke contract drafting to aircraft sale, purchase, and leasing transactions. He also acts in litigation and arbitration involving complex cross‑border disputes in aviation, insurance, commodities and transport, applying strategic judgment and a creative solutions‑driven approach to technically and legally challenging cases.
He holds a PhD in air law from the University of Bern and an LLM in Air & Space Law from McGill University. He has authored numerous publications, speaks regularly at industry and academic conferences and in 2025 was appointed Air Law Lecturer at the University of Lausanne.
Laurent has practised with leading law firms in Zurich and Geneva, and spent two years in London with a Swiss law firm, giving him a strong international outlook alongside deep roots in the Swiss legal and regulatory environment.
